Installation
Instructions
Extract the files to your Poser folder. i.e. the directory where you have Poser.exe
installed. Then by selecting "use folder names" in WinZip, files will be correctly
positioned automatically. If you prefer to do it manually the files should be
placed thus:-
| All.OBJ | Program Files\Curious Labs\Poser 4\Runtime\Geometries\PhilC\P5 (Poser 5 dynamic clothing props only) |
| All.PCF | Program Files\Curious Labs\Poser 4\Runtime\Geometries\PhilC\(also see details below) |
| All.TIF, JPG, BUM | Program Files\Curious Labs\Poser 4\Runtime\Textures\PhilC\ |
| Character.CR2 | Program Files\Curious Labs\Poser 4\Runtime\Libraries\character\folder-of-your-choice |
| Prop.PP2 | Program Files\Curious Labs\Poser 4\Runtime\Libraries\Props\folder-of-your-choice |
| ALL other files | Program Files\Curious Labs\Poser 4\Runtime\Read Me\ (These are the instructions) |
Thumbnail RSR and PNG files go into the same folder as the Poser file they represent
The Poser program used to be owned by Metacreations. Earlier versions may have their folder name in place of Curious Labs. It is the file path "Runtime" and below that is important. Using Winzip it will look like this:-

Please ensure that you have the latest Poser Patch installed, I have found that
some models tend to sulk if they are not housed in the most up to date accommodation
The patch can be obtained from http://www.curiouslabs.com
Mac users will need to make a file conversion using two free utilities. They
are Macinstaller
and Maconcerter.
If you are required to go through the front door of that site go to http://www.renderosity.com
Click on the "Poser Free Stuff" then select "Utilities" and finally look on
pages 2 and 3.
A search for the author MartinC will also find them.
The procedure is:-
Firstly what is a PCF file, why have you been given one, and what do you do with it?
This figure is based on the Poser 3 nude female and includes data (mesh) from that model. This material is copyrighted to the original creator and may not be distributed in whole or in part. So how may I get my figure to you? The solution is to encrypt the OBJ file using the original copywriten model as the key. Upon receiving this encrypted (PCF) file a Poser user may unlock it using their copy of the original OBJ file. Bone fide Poser users will both have the same original figure, and hence the key.
The Objaction Mover program produced by
Maz enables the sharing of copyrighted material between Poser users without
infringing on that copyright. He has kindly made it freely available from his
site. http://www.sandylodge.demon.co.uk/
(Commercial applications require permission).
The procedure is as follows:-
|
Example:- My Mazarine figure includes the file p3project1.pcf because the figure contains mesh from the P3 female model.

In Poser open the Library window. Select Figures, the model will be in the PhilC Designs folder Unless you have opted to place it elsewhere. Load into the scene using the check marks at the bottom. The single check mark will exchange an existing scene figure with the new one. The double check mark will add the new one to the scene.
