|
|
This was prompted partly by my need to be able to load Poser files from folders that were not part of a Poser library but mostly as an interesting exercise in place of doing the crossword puzzle after Christmas dinner.
It invokes the KISS principle. As I say I did it to suite me, if it works for you then that's good too.
Please note that you effectively browse for the file you do not load a library. Poser may therefore take a while to search for the required OBJ and texture files. I'm looking for a way to improve this.
ZIP does not contain any folder information. You need to
place the files from the zip directly into
Poser 8\Runtime\Python\poserScripts\ScriptsMenu\PhilC
-------------------------------------------------
P8_Alt_Lib.pyc
P8_Alt_Lib add over.jpg
P8_Alt_Lib add.jpg
P8_Alt_Lib delete over.jpg
P8_Alt_Lib delete.jpg
P8_Alt_Lib empty.jpg
P8_Alt_Lib full.jpg
-------------------------------------------------
This is not intended to be the ultimate Poser 8 library,
rather it is just a custom version that fits in with my
own particular work flow. I primarily needed a method of
loading Poser files that were not contained within the
standard Poser library structure.
Double click the file name to load it into the Poser scene.
"Dots" are provided to act as book marks. They function in
the same way as regular Poser dots.
Left click an empty dot to set.
Left click a set dot to go to its book mark.
Alt left click to un-set a dot.
Free does not mean open source. Do not redistribute.
Use at your own risk.
Not yet tested on a Mac.

Comments welcome. I suspect that this is something that I will continue to tinker with. _________________

To do:-
Complete load material code, currently if you click on it you'll get a "to do" message.
Add PZ3 save and open including creation of a thumbnail.
Add OBJ import.
Include ability to preview a thumbnail size view of textures.
Double check file save routine because I've noticed that a couple of times it did not "take". (Suspect a reboot needed). _________________

Phil,
This script is a good idea, but it doesn't work well on n old ppc mac running 10.4.11. The finder window doesn't expand when you expand its window shell. The "type of file" scroll bar is over the left to right scroll bar. With this you can't find things in any deep folder selection.

I have not as yet done any work on this relating to a Mac. I do understand however that "cross platform" actually means; works on a PC, good luck on a Mac.
Providing I get time I will look at it in due course. _________________
