Wardrobe Wizard
How to retaining existing morphs and body handles. Back to Wardrobe Wizard Info Page |

Consider this Cheongsam style dress that was created for Vicki 3. The lower portion of the dress has geometry groups called "frontSkirt" and "rearSkirt". It also contains other groups which we refer to as "Body Handles". These do not contain any geometry but are there to help control the pose of the model. The clothing figure also contains a number of morphs that we wish to keep. Ensure that figure is at Zero pose and the clothing fits then click the "Convert From" button followed by "As Full Body with out Head". (You could actually click on any of the options except the hair one since we will not be using the grouping info from here). |

Delete Vicki 3 and load in the figure that you wish to convert to. For this example I'll be using Staci. If we were to use the normal "Convert To" button the result would be that the lower portion of the dress would disappear because the body parts do not match what is in the donor CR2 file. We would also lose all the existing morphs. Plus Staci would get annoyed! So what we do is click on "Convert To Advanced" |

Followed this by "Unwelded Unregrouped Figure". Basically you are telling Wardrobe Wizard to just convert the shape but do not touch anything else. | ![]() |

Next we need to copy the joints from Staci into the dress. Make sure that there are only the two figures in the scene and click the Utilities ---> Figure ----> More ----> Copy Joint Parameters. The next bit is important! Python can only do so much. It has done all the hard work but it will need you to finish off. Python will copy the joint info into the child body part but it will not put the corresponding info into the parent. If you ask me why I'll just reply like any good parent with a stern "Because it does!" Open the Poser Joint Parameter Window. Then for each rotation of each joint you will need to make the smallest of adjustments to any of the parameters and this forces Poser to get all its ducks in a row. If available I just toggle the Spherical Fall Off Zones off and on. You'll see the difference as in the image on the right. |

So there you have it. Converted to Staci retaining the existing body handles, non standard body part names and morphs. |
