Q #1 : It simply does not work.
A: My email in box is full of posts where I can easily see that the user has given only the briefest of cursory glances to the instructions. It is human nature to want to "get at it". I know I've been guilty of it too. If after an hour of getting frustrated and you are about to throw it at the wall you may want to consider spending just a few minutes reading the instructions. If you have not yet found the "Help" button then the info is also available on line at http://www.philc.net/WW2_help.htm. Plus there is now an on screen video over view available at http://www.philc.net/WW2_plugin_overview/WW2_plugin_overview.html.

To be fair my in box is also full of a similar number of subsequent emails saying "Oh now that I've read the instructions it all makes sense". :)

Q #2 : I purchased Wardrobe Wizard full version but it still only runs in demo mode.
A: Wardrobe Wizard requires registration. Unregistered it will default to demo mode. See the included readme file for details.
Q #3 : I purchased the Wardrobe Wizard upgrade but it still only runs in demo mode.
A: The readme will tell you that you need to copy your original serial.dat file from your original Wardrobe Wizard folder into the new Wardrobe Wizard 2.0 folder. Then start the plug in version of Wardrobe Wizard 2. You do not need to convert any clothing, just starting it will be sufficient for it to validate your serial.dat file. You'll get a message indicating that it has been validated. Now copy this validated serial.dat file into your stand alone Wardrobe Wizard folder.
Q #4 : I sent in my registration a month ago and I've still not got a reply.
A: a) I'm human I may have missed it, I'm sorry, please send it in again.
A: b) I received it and replied in timely fashion with your registration file but your spam filter deleted it. I've got no way of knowing that your spam filter, or your ISP's spam filter is deleting my replies. During office hours I'm usually able to return your registrations within a few minutes. Certainly within 24 hours even at weekends or holidays. If you have not heard within 24 hours then please resend and put me on your friends list so that you receive the reply.
A: c) For whatever reason your emails are not getting through to pcooke@philc.net . My alternative addresses are philc_designs@yahoo.com and jlcooke@bellsouth.net . Please try one of those.

Q #5 : I'm on a Mac and I do not understand how to install the unlock file (serial.dat).
A: This screen grab should help.

Q #6 : It says that my figure is not supported?
A: The names of your available figures will be visible in the "Convert to" and "Convert from" scrolling lists seen in the plugin or stand alone Wardrobe Wizard window. These are the "out of the box" versions of those figures. Sometimes when customizing a figure Poser or the user will alter the name of the OBJ file that the figure references. For example this can occur if the Poser face room is used. The solution is to either use the out of the box figure or edit your custom figure to reference the original OBJ file.
Q #7 : I'm getting 'Error number 13 - permission denied'
A: You are probably using Windows Vista or XP and you have not granted Wardrobe Wizard and/or Poser sufficient privileges to be able to write files. Please see this forum post for more details.
Q #8 : I'm getting a 'bad magic number' error.
A: Similar to above Please see this forum post for more details.

Q #9 : I run out of memory when I try and analyze all of V4's morphs. If I do them in batches I am then confused as to which ones I need for my custom figure.
A: Load the figure.
Inject the custom figure pose or do whatever you need to do to get the custom figure body shape.
Click Utilities > Morphs > Dials to single Morph, you'll be prompted to input a name for the morph.
Click Back > Back > Analyze Full Body Morphs
Select your single named morph from the list when it is presented to you. Do not select them all, just select the one you named.

It should process very quickly.

Now when you convert clothing and include the FBM option you can select your named morph to be added into the clothing. You wont need to select a bunch of morphs with "strange" names, just the single one with the name you chose.

Conform that clothing to your custom figure.
Select the clothing's BODY
Set the named FBM dial to 1.000 and it will fit the custom figure.

A variation on this would be to just use the Create MOR from Figure button. The difference being that this would not create a named Full Body Morph dial in the figure. You may already have one, or not need one because you are applying the character morph from a pose. See this on screen video.

Q #10 : Wardrobe Wizard 2 starts to analyze the clothing but then says that it can not find the OBJ file.
A: Wardrobe Wizard 2 can find paths in the CR2 file when the "figureResFile" is given in either of these two these formats:-

  • Relative Path
    Runtime:Geometries:Folder:SubFolder:filename.obj
    Runtime:libraries:character:Folder:SubFolder:filename.obj
  • Absolute Path
    C:\Documents and Settings:Administrator:My Documents:My Poser Files:Runtime:Geometries:Folder:SubFolder:filename.obj

Open the CR2 file in a text editor to find the figureResFile line. It is usually within the first ten lines of the file.

Either will work but if the path is relative check to ensure that the CR2 file is within that same Runtime. If the path is absolute check that the file is actually where it is supposed to be.

Q #11: After selecting a clothing item to convert, Poser locks up.
A: Unfortunately I have no control over Poser's window management. The Wardrobe Wizard window is still there but behind the Poser preview window. If you can see any part of it click on it to bring it to the front and you'll be able to continue. I explain this in the video overview where I state that before starting Wardrobe Wizard you should first minimize the Poser preview window by clicking its sizing widget.

Q #12: I've just started to use Wardrobe Wizard but I'm getting an error message:- "setting.txt not found restoring defaults." I've looked for settings.txt but can not find it.
A: Wardrobe Wizard stores your setting and uses them as the starting point the next time you use the application. If this is the first time you are using Wardrobe Wizard there will be no previous settings so the script will use its default settings. The message is not an error, it is just informing you of this.
