Joint Parameters

There will be very little requirement to adjust the joint parameters, but that does not mean that it will never be required. The most common situation will be as illustrated below.

You bend the toe and the high heel deforms.

The solution is to adjust the Static A and Dynamic B values. More simply put:- drag the lower red control line "A" down so that it excludes the heel and if required adjust the lower green control line "B" so that the bend at the underside of the toe looks correct.

Other issues will most likely relate to the spherical fall off zones. For example I've noticed that V4 has some very dainty ones surrounding her toes. Generally they will not be required for any part of the shoes, simple turn them off.

Requirements of the shoe being converted.

  1. The shoe must be a conforming figure.
    If it is not, then take it into the Setup Room and apply bones to it. You can do this quickly by applying the bones from as similar shoe that is a conforming figure.
  2. At a minimum the shoe must contain the group "rFoot". It may also contain the groups "rShin" and "rToe" or "rToes". Any other groups such as "heel" etc. will get lost in the conversion.
  3. The process only considers the right shoe. The left shoe is totally ignored. If your conforming shoes come as two figures, one for the right foot and one for the left you can just ignore the left. If you are converting shoes from a right peg legged sailor then I'm sorry but you are scuttled.

If you find that your figure is not supported.

You will be given the option to select an alternative from a list. It could be for example that the figure you are using is a custom version of one of the base figures. Maybe one that uses different UV mapping and is therefore using a different geometry file. Simply select the relevant base figure since the jointing will be the same.

If it is something totally different then pick any figure. That will allow the conversion to complete. At the conclusion you may then adjust the joints manually to suit your figure.
