Morph Tools

Notes:- When applied to the P4 casual woman an eye blink morph gives the following results.

The resulting CR2 file size can be several MB's smaller with very little, if any, visual difference to the figure in the scene.

Load Morphs From OBJ

Notes:- Loading individual morph targets for each body part can be very time consuming. Use this section to complete the task is far less time, with much less effort.

Pro Pack users will be required to make a single manual export of the full figure OBJ file.

More Morph Tools

Notes:-

Input Morph Name and Value
User input is required for the Spawn Morph and Set Morph Tools. Then input the desired morph name and value as prompted. Poser 6 users will see input windows as shown on the right. Users of earlier versions will need to enter a value on the UNIVERSE actor which will be displayed for you.

Batch Morph Transfer

Notes:-

This tool is not available in the Pro Pack.

After selecting the "From" figure you will be prompted to edit the list of available morphs in Notepad. Simple delete the lines showing the names of the morphs that you do not want to transfer. Then save the file.

If the recipient figure already contains a morph dial with the same name as one being transferred avoid duplication by first deleting it using the Delete Morph tool shown in the next panel.

Delete Morphs

Notes:-

This very powerful tool will delete all morph channels that contain no deltas. The morph dials are not simply hidden they are completely removed from the file.

An option to create an include list allowes a high degree of user control without the requirement for tedious multiple mouse clicks.

"Orphaned" Full Body Morph dials are also removed as are their associated group nodes.

Multiple Delete

Notes:-

Delete by name is a Poser 6 option only.

The Delete All Lights and Delete All Magnets tools are also provided here for convenience. They perform the same functions as the same named buttons in the light and magnet sections.

Better Hand Posing

Notes:-

A more natural way to pose the hands. You can still use the individual joint dials to retain full control. This will also compensate for different figures having different default hand poses. i.e. if you find that the figure you are working with has a straighter index finger give it a little "pre bending" then use the hand dials.

Arrays

Notes:-

An array is simply a generic term for a series of similar objects arranged in some form of logical pattern. The squares on a chess board are an array as are bricks in a wall.

The Array Tool will allow you to load one prop into the Poser scene and have it duplicated multiple times in accordance with your requirements.

Look in the PhilC Designs\Objects section of your Prop library for some models that I have included for you to practice with. They are intentionally very basic serving only as examples. They do however include suggested setting in the thumbnail.

NOTE that units are Poser units

World Units
Poser Units
1 inch
0.01
1 foot
0.116
1 meter
0.381

So if you type in a value of "6" for the distance between elements assuming that to be six inches don't be surprised if the second element is so far off the screen that you can not see it :)

Tape Measure

Notes:-

Two cube props were loaded into a Poser scene, then with the Poser units preference set to inches they were positioned 60" offset from one another. These were then used as a guide in the construction of the tape measure model.

The tape was then checked by wrapping it around a cylinder of a known diameter. Results were good.

Whilst this is probably as best as it can get the resulting tape measure should only be viewed as a guide. It is unlikely to pass muster from an Inspector of weights and measures. :)

Measure A to B

Notes:-

This tool will enable you to measure the distance between two locations.

Start by clicking the Load A to B button. This will place two markers into the scene. Position one at each of the two points you wish to measure between. Next select the units that you would like the results written in. All available Poser display units are included. When ready click the Print Distance A to B button. The offset and direct distances will be displayed.

Reset and Delete buttons are also available.

Prop Utilities

Notes:-

These tools may be used on any props not just the primitives that come with Poser.

The effect of the extra controls may be further adjusted by repositioning the prop's center point. To do this select the prop and open the Poser Joint Editor.

With the "Display Deformer" box selected the center is represented in the Poser Document window by a set of green cross hairs. These may be dragged with the Poser translate tool to a new position.
