Overview
Input a front and rear outline of the desired garment together with a suitable depth map, and the plugin will create a 3D model. This is then manipulated in Poser 5 or Poser 6 to produce a dynamic clothing model or a conforming clothing figure.

Scope
Practically any Poser figure. A large number of figure templates and depth maps are provided but instructions are also included on how to create your own from scratch. It is outside the scope of the Clothing Creator to make gloves, shoes and hats.

These are provided in the form of web pages and screen captured video.

Mesh Quality
I do not feel it is possible to automatically create a geometric mesh to the same quality as one made by hand. That said, the plugin will very quickly create a very usable model. As an example you are invited to download the several examples shown on this page. All have been made using the plug in. None have been edited or adapted in a 3D modeler. Quad divided and triangulated meshes at various resolutions may be created.

PC/MAC
PC only I'm afraid. There is a fundamental flaw in the Python installation in MAC versions of Poser 5 & 6 which prohibit the plugin from working. For details please see this Renderosity forum thread.

Poser Versions
The plugin is designed to be used with the Poser 5 & 6 Cloth Room. It will not work on earlier versions of the program. English language versions only. The plug in will not work with the German language version of Poser 5 or 6. (English Poser 5 & 6 on German Windows is OK).

Templates and depth maps.
A large number of templates and depth maps are included for your convenience. You are by no means restricted to using just those. Instructions are given on how to make your own using the updated Python tools in Poser. Nothing complicated, ... load the figure, click the button, export the image.

Who owns the clothing that is created?
You do! :)
All derived works are yours to do what ever you like with. There are no restrictions.

What other programs are required?

  • Poser 5 or Poser 6
  • A graphics program capable of opening PSD files. This could be Adobe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro or the free application called Gimp.
  • The templates used to create the clothing may be used as templates for the textures. However if any adjustment or repositioning is required you will need a UV mapping utility. The one I highly recommend is UVMapper Pro.

Workflow
Use the plugin in conjunction with simple templates to create the clothing model. Spend the better part of your time drawing textures to bring out the required details. It is expected that transparency maps will also be used to good effect as illustrated by the examples available for free download.

By Internet download. (225 MB). A burn to CD option is available.
